Child Protection Policy Statement

The Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C aims to protect the safety and welfare of its junior participants. Several measures will be used to achieve this such as:

Providing opportunities for our juniors to contribute to and provide feedback on our program development.
Carefully selecting and screening people whose role requires them to have regular contact with children.
Ensuring the ARL National Code of Conduct, particularly for roles associated with junior sport, are promoted, enforced and reviewed.
Providing procedures for raising concerns or complaints.
Providing education and/or information to those involved in our sport on child abuse and child protection.

The Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C requires that any child who is abused or anyone who reasonably suspects that a child has been or is being abused by someone within our sport, to report it immediately to the police or relevant government agency and the Club Secretary Jackie James.

All allegations of child abuse will be dealt with promptly, seriously, sensitively and confidentially. A person will not be victimized for reporting an allegation of child abuse and the privacy of all persons concerned will be respected. Photo Images Policy

A high level of care is exercised by the Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C when dealing with the issue of photo images of children.

Wherever possible, the Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C will only use images which portray the child / children in full playing uniform.

Under no circumstances do the Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C allow any photographer access to a child for personal or unsupervised photo sessions.

The Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C will not publish the full names of children appearing in any published material without prior parent or guardian consent.

The Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C only use images of children when so authorized by a child's parent or guardian for publication within:

2011 Coaching vacancies

1.Coachs must be or willing to obtain Australian Rugby League Level 1 or higher certification.

2.Coachs & Team Trainers must be or willing to obtain League Safe certification.

3.Coachs who do not have an existing accreditation will need to attend the next available A.R.L course.

4.Coachs who have allowed their accreditation to lapse will be required to attend another course or provide the neccessary information to allow your reaccreditation. Accreditation is valid for 4 years.

5.Coachs or a representative from your team must attend the Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C monthly committee meetings.

6. Applicants must abide by and uphold the Blue Haven Raiders J.R.L.C constitution, its rules and regulations including the A.R.L and Central Coast Junior Rugby League Code of Conduct and Safe Play Code.

7. Applications Conditions: All positions are subject to the applicant consenting to a Working with Children screening.(Child Protection / Offenders Registration) Act 2000. It is an offence for prohibited persons to apply for or attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment in any capacity, whether paid, volunteering or self employed.
